Many blogs are out there on the web. The vast majority of blogs are simply setup as experiments and don’t go far beyond there. You will come across many blogs where the blog writer has a welcome post indicating that they are new to blogging and will blog about some topic in their life with many more posts to come. The reality is they never look at the blog again and no new posts show up. Other blogs simply don’t stand out with interesting content despite the fact that the blog poster may make very frequent updates to the blog. If you are wondering, “how do I start blogging?” then you should really think about why you want to do this and what you wish to share with the world. It is ok if you simply setup a blog to experiment with the technology but if you seriously want to blog and become one of the top blog sites in your area of expertise it will take a plan and a lot of work to keep your blog updated an even more importantly to respond thoughtfully to those who post comments on your blog. The key to becoming a great blogger is to realize it is a conversation and to remain in interactive mode with your visitors.
